| (May 1986 - September 2002) Ch. Trail Boss Grover 2012 National Bird Hunters Association Hall of Fame Inductee. We acquired CH. Trail Boss Grover as a puppy at the age of seven weeks old, and he developed into one of our most reliable bird dogs to date. Grover's greatest traits were his ability in finding birds, he had a great nose and knew how to work the field edges, and he was a very stylish setter who always ran to the front. Grover was our first trial dog that we campaigned in field trials, and he won the NBHA Midwest Regional Championship in 1993, and then was Runner-up Champion at Region 5 AFTCA Walking Shooting Dog Championship in 1994. Grover accumulated 32 placements both in walking and horseback shooting dog stakes in his career. Nearly 20 years later we still hear stories from some of the field trialers who witnessed his performances, and still share stories about him. Grover lived out his days at our kennel, and he was over 16 years old when he passed on. Winning dogs in our kennel are CH. PENROSA STONEYOX, PENROSA JANE DOE,and PENROSA BENOXEN, are all descendants of Ch. Trail Boss Grover and are carrying on his winning legacy. | |
